Not just a fast and furiously challenging one player racer, not just a hilarious party game (with up to 8 players at once!), Micro Machines is a blue print for everything video games should be about. This is a game that requires skill, practice and represents a serious challenge, but it's also great fun and incredibly silly. In an age when games are taking themselves more and more seriously, it's great to go back to Micro Machines and remember what makes video games so much fun.

Micro Machines is a miniature car racer with a top-down perspective of household tracks, and it's the tracks where the all the games charm comes from. Instead of racing around cities or war zones, here you’re racing around snooker tables and breakfast tables, work benches and gym benches, bath tubs and tree houses. It's just like when you were a kid and you made your own tracks for your matchbox cars around the house.

In Micro Machines Turbo Tournament you have a huge selection of vehicles, all handling differently, a great variety of game play modes, and a wide selection of quite unbelievably great tracks and the '96 version included even more tracks and a track editor to make your own on top it all off! This is as perfect a game package as you could wish for which truly comes in to its own when you have a group of friend round. It's a crying shame that recent attempts to resurrect the franchise have fallen flat.
