Machine: PC, and others
This ancient PC platformer is an absolute blast. As a cunning alley cat your job is to negotiate the bins and washing lines in the alley behind a block of flats with the aim of making it through the open windows. All the while avoiding dogs, other cats and the stuff the local residents chuck at you. A different challenge awaits you depending on which window you make it through; in one you have to catch the mice in a huge lump of cheese, in another you must dive into the fish bowl and catch the fish.
This is a devastatingly original platformer the likes of which haven't been seen since. So clever is this game that, incredibly for it's time, Alley Cat has timing system that isn't linked to the system clock therefore, unlike most of it's contemporaries, the game runs at the same speed whether played on a 286 or the latest Core 2. More games with cats please!
