Kwik Snax screenshotCode Masters - 1990

Generation: 3

Machine: ZX Spectrum, and others

Genre: Platformer, Puzzle

Towards the end of the Spectrum's life Dizzy became the machine's icon much as Sonic is for Sega or Mario for Nintendo. He may be most famous for his adventures but in 1990 he appeared in Fast Food. It was a basic PacMan clone and a bit of a contradiction because it was anything but fast. Then came Kwik Snax, and this was fast.

This was PacMan but taken to a whole new level. It was still a maze with fruit to collect and monsters to avoid but this time you could move the walls. It may not sound like that much of a change but it makes all the difference. After each level there's a bonus puzzle level which is equally as fun and more often more challenging than the main level itself.

Fast, furious, fiendishly challenging, and one of the best pieces of music ever to hit the Spectrum, what more do you want?
